Hugo Update

Little Hugo, who I blogged about here, is growing fast. He's 14 weeks old now and turning out to be a pretty great little dude.  Here are a few pics of him from the weekend.

Cape Scott - Day 3 (Finally)

On day three of our visit to Cape Scott, we woke up bright and early, to make the 24 km hike back to the car, followed by the nine hour drive back to the south end of the island.  Harvey hiked out a couple kilometres with us to show us the beach route back to Experiment Bight and across the dunes to Guise Bay. We were lucky to walk many pristine beaches that morning, leaving our footprints among the tracks of the coastal wolves.

I had to get a photo of this beautiful old tree, seemingly made up of many smaller trees.

Happy Canada Day!

Charlie wanted me to wish everybody a Happy Canada Day! But she also wanted me to remind everyone that fireworks can be extremely scary and stressful for your pets.  Last Halloween an American Bulldog named Charlee (he's also spotty like our girl) swam from the beach in Victoria all the way to a near by island when he was spooked by fireworks. While you are out celebrating our country, make sure your pets are somewhere safe and secure.  Keep in mind that if they can hear the fireworks from home, they still may be fearful.  Make sure they are somewhere they will not be able to harm themselves, especially if you aren't going to be with them. Have a happy and safe Canada Day everyone!
