By day three it was getting much hotter in the city. We took the train out to Coney Island to get some time by the beach. We stopped at Nathan's Famous to have a hot dog at the birth place of the hot dog.
After our hot dogs, we went for a walk along the beach. We rode the Cyclone which was built in 1927 and is one of three rides designated as New York City landmarks. Another is the Wonder Wheel pictured below built in 1918; and the third is the Parachute Jump, in the following picture, which was built in 1938 but has not been in use since 1968.
We visited Ruby's Bar & Grill to cool off before heading back.
We headed to Brooklyn Bridge Park to get some ice cream and see Jane's Carousel.

Hot and tired at this point, we decided to walk across the Brooklyn bridge towards Manhattan.
