New York City - Day 4

Day 4 was another day in which we covered a lot of ground.  To start the day we journeyed over to Central Park.  We wandered around the trails in search of the Alice in Wonderland statue, and marvelled about how much information you pick up from movies and T.V. shows that are filmed in the city.

We finally found Alice just as we were running out of time before we had to head to Greenwich Village to start our food tour.

We did the tour with Foods of New York Tours, and I would definitely recommend it.  We walked around the borough and tried some delicious foods, but were also given a lot of information about the historical neighbourhood.

From Greenwich we made our way to Chelsea to check out the Chelsea Market and the High Line.

The High Line is a decommissioned elevated freight rail line that was built in 1934 to transport goods to and from Manhattan's largest industrial district.  The last train ran in 1980.  It is now public park space.

We ended the night on the Lightship Frying Pan at the Pier 66 Maritime Bar & Grill, we enjoyed the cool breeze from the Hudson as the sun set over Hoboken.
